The year is 2030.
The post-apocalyptic darkness have fell, and the earth as we know it, has come to an end. This is the dystopic story of man's existence after earth's destruction.

The disaster and the subsequent ice age destroyed all organic life, and all forms of human civilization. There was nowhere to hide, the earth would soon be covered by a kilometer-thick layer of ice. All hope for the existence of humanity, would always be lost, hadn't it not been for…

CDA, (The Civil Defense Agency) built in secret stockpile facilities and military facilities in the event of a global nuclear war. The facilities was called ‘Human Arks’, inspired by the biblical noah's ark.

The end of the Cold War resulted in that the CDA in 1991 was discontinued the project shelved.

2005
––

FEMA, (U.S. Federal Emergency Management Agency) was founded. They adopted again interest in emergency preparedness solutions, beacause it had been registered a steady increase in the frequency and intensity of natural disasters and global warming.

FEMA would function as an existential contingency plan for survivors of apocalyptic natural disasters, and ensure the reconstruction of a new global society.

RECRUITMENT
––

FEMA administrates a certain number of underground bases called 'Human Arks', where 40 hand-picked persons have the opportunity to stay and live in the shelter of the unlivable situation on the surface.

Hand-picked persons have to achieve these requirements:

— Age from 20 to 30
— Well-trained, physically fit
— Intelligent, well-educated
— Different cultures
— English Language
— High social intelligence
— Fertility Skilled

REGISTRATION & DOCUMENTATION PAPERS

With limited supplies, the postal items is made with a multifunctional focus.

It's developed three different templates that can be formed and given the function when stamped with different stamps. For example, monthly documentation or educational papers.

SUPPLIES
––

The supplies is designed in a way where the communication is directly connected to a room in the facility.

The symbol used on the food supplies is the same as used for the kitchen, to symbolize a clear link between the kitchen and food packaging.

INSTRUCTION MANUALS
––

Fema's vision is to ensure the reconstruction of a new global society. Due to this, it is important that there is stored information on how to solve all sorts of problems.

These instruction manuals has to include everything from detailed repair information, such as a circuit diagram, to quickstart guides on how to built a house or how to fish.
